There is no national gambling helpline in Ghana
That is a finding rather than an omission, and this page would rather say it plainly than print a number that reaches the wrong desk.
Why no number is printed here
The evidence is the regulator's own work. Its August 2026 report on gaming and mental health records that most respondents are unaware of any support service, and commits as a future action to publicising helplines, counselling services and referral pathways. A regulator undertaking to publicise helplines is the strongest available evidence that none is published today.
Two numbers circulate on responsible gambling pages in this market as Ghanaian gambling helplines. Both are the regulator's general enquiry and complaints lines. Somebody in a bad hour who dials a number labelled as counselling and reaches a complaints desk has been failed by whoever labelled it, so neither appears here.
A third, a general psychosocial line run by the mental health authority, could not be confirmed as operating in 2026, so it is not carried either. If any of that changes, the compliance record behind this site changes and this page changes with it.
What does exist
At the bookmaker
Every licensed operator in this market is required to offer deposit limits and self-exclusion. They are usually inside account settings rather than on the front page, and they work: a deposit limit set now applies before the next impulse rather than after it. Self-exclusion is the stronger tool and it is worth using at the point where you are thinking about whether you need it, not later.
At the regulator
The Gaming Commission of Ghana licenses every operator on this site and takes complaints about them. It is also the body that would remove a licence. Its own site is the right first stop for a dispute that an operator will not resolve.
At the bank
Wallet limits are a blunt instrument that works. The Bank of Ghana bands cap what a mobile money wallet can move, and a wallet left at minimum KYC cannot receive or send more than GH₵3,000 in a day. It is not a gambling tool and it is a real ceiling.
Signs worth taking seriously
- Depositing again on the same day to recover a loss.
- Betting an amount you would not tell somebody close to you about.
- Opening a second account after a limit or an exclusion on the first.
- Chasing a bonus turnover with stakes larger than you would otherwise place.
- Money set aside for something else being reachable from a betting account.
That last one is the one this site is closest to. A welcome offer is a reason to move money you were not going to move, which is precisely why it is worth knowing what one is actually worth before taking it.
